  • For us, freediving is about joy, play, discovery and feeling 100% alive.

Each freediving school brings something unique, so here’s our approach:.

Here is what you can expect from Immersia Freediving:

    • The Safest Choice - yes, we know, anyone can claim this. Our safety and instructor conduct standards go beyond any certification agency or school in Australia. How do we know? Constant research and reviews. We prioritise safety over everything. Sometimes it means we won’t go to the deepest spot or push the limits of our students. We believe that’s the right thing to keep everyone safe.

    • Truly Beginner-Friendly - We’ve created the most approachable, accessible and authentic courses available in Australia. Our instructor hiring standards are very strict to maintain this atmosphere.

    • Local Community Figures - we're at the centre of the freediving community in the Eastern Suburbs and Northern Beaches and we will connect you into it.

    • Continuing Your Journey - we can help you make freediving a lifestyle. We're the only freediving school in Sydney offering regular training, community events and trips to enrich your life after you learn to freedive

    • Inclusive and Psychologically Safe - we’re a female owned company with 70% female staff. We welcome guests from all backgrounds and are committed to creating a safe space. Unlike many freediving schools, our instructors are held to exceptional conduct standards.

Here are the values that you'll find across all courses and training:

    • IT'S YOUR OWN JOURNEY - Our courses are environments without judgement or pressure. No assholes here.

    • HAPPIER > DEEPER - We want to help you find your 'happy' underwater, not to break records.

    • SAFETY BEFORE STYLE - Safety is kinda unsexy, but we take this more seriously than anything.

    • DON'T SH*T WHERE YOU EAT - We experience nature in a way most people never will. We try to leave it better than we found it.

Find out more about your instructor, our values and philosophy.

  • There are many certification agencies in the freediving world.

Many of our instructors are certified under multiple agencies. You can check out their experience and certifications here.

We have chosen to partner with PADI because:

    • We’re both committed to creating a community of safe recreational freedivers. Many other agencies like Molchanovs focus on competitive/technical freediving.

    • We both hold Marine Conservation as a core value, and we love PADI’s commitment to conservation initiatives such as PADI AWARE and Dive Against Debris

    • PADI is a trusted name for members of the public.

  • We would love to have you! We welcome all freedivers from all schools and agencies to train and travel with us.

If you’re looking to complete a certification:

    • PADI - you can complete your cert with us; we just need to speak to your original instructor

    • Molchanovs - we may be able to complete your cert but we will need to pair you with an active Molchanovs instructor (we have several on the team)

    • SSI - we are unable to certify you, but we can recommend local instructors who can

    • AIDA - we are unable to certify you, but we can recommend local instructors who can

    • Apnea Australia - we are unable to certify you, but we can recommend local instructors who can

    • PFI, FII, Other - We are unable to certify you but please join us for training!

  • All good! Freediving is a personal journey, and everyone will progress in their own time.

You’re absolutely welcome to give your requirements another go at a later date. Please note that PADI Freediver Courses must be completed within 12 months of your initial course. This one is mandated by PADI.

If not completed by this date, you can complete the course again (with a 20% discount offered on the course cost).

“Immersia Freediving is a welcoming community with no ego’s (hurrah!). Any newcomers who are a tad nervous and wanting to dip their toes in the realm of freediving, or qualified divers who need to be coached by an incredibly talented woman should look no further”
