At Immersia, we believe that learning to freedive is only the beginning of your journey. That’s why we’ve invested in creating a community of freedivers and ocean lovers in Sydney who dive, train and travel together. We run weekly events, partner with eco-organisations to organise ocean cleanups, and offer retreats for our freediving community.

Fun Dive Participation Guidelines
BYO Dive Gear
All divers participate at their own risk; this is an informal social event. Divers will not be supervised by an instructor.
Divers are requested not to wear weights unless certified freedivers
All divers must complete a waiver
No spearfishing
We expect all divers to dive in buddy pairs and observe standard freediving safety protocols

We are sorry but we do not rent out equipment for social dives. We recommend investing in some of your own freediving gear to make the most of regular social diving!

If you have registered and have not received a cancellation email, yes. We make the call by 7pm the night before the dive. Please remember, all divers must stay within their limits. We will cancel the dive if we deem the conditions unsafe for an intermediate level freediver, but this doesn’t automatically mean that the conditions are suitable for absolute beginners.

If you registered and can’t attend, don’t worry! You don’t need to let us know.

We usually spend 10-15 minutes suiting up before the dive. Once we are mostly all ready, we are going in. We can’t wait for people.

It’s strongly recommended. You lose heat very fast when freediving, and the water in Sydney is not very warm.

IS THE DIVE SUITABLE FOR ME?
We welcome snorkellers and freedivers of all levels, so long as you are a confident swimmer. However, this is not an instructed session and everyone is in the water at their own risk. This is NOT the place to learn snorkelling or freediving. We will cancel the dive if we deem the conditions unsafe for an intermediate level freediver, but that does not mean that conditions will always be suitable for a beginner. We ask that every single person makes their own assessment in the morning before we enter the water. Please do not rely on the group leader to make that assessment for you.
