THE IMMERSIA TEAM

Meet the Team

Bella

  • Growing up in the UK, Bella didn’t discover the ocean until her mid-20s, when she moved to Australia with her corporate career. In freediving Bella found a way to explore, a way to meet people, a way to find respite from stress and anxiety. Most of all, she found personal transformation.

Bella said goodbye to her full-time corporate role in 2020 to focus on Immersia Freediving. She instructs the majority of our courses, and runs the business behind the scenes.

Diving Bucket-List Destination Diving under the ice in the Arctic.

  • Jasmine discovered freediving while searching for a way to explore the ocean beyond the rough and tumble of surfing. What began as a fun hobby quickly evolved into a deep personal practice and connection to a community of like-minded adventurers, who have now become her second family.

When she learned that Bella was expanding the team at Immersia, Jasmine knew she couldn’t return to ‘normal life’. Her role at Immersia combines her love for business and adventure perfectly. Following in the footsteps of Immersia’s founder, she left her corporate job within the month and hasn’t looked back since.

In addition to her role at Immersia, Jasmine is also a mindset and personal Coach for emerging female leaders, helping them turn their passion into income.

Charlene

  • From a family of fishermen, Charlene was introduced to swimming at a very young age. She used to swim in the local sea near her grandma’s house in Toledo, Philippines with her siblings and cousins, and jumped from the docked fishing boats.

A freediving novice, however, Charlene already has had some experience swimming at the beautiful beaches of Cebu and Bohol.

She finds peace at the beach.

Charlene is our super-organiser, looking after our customer queries, bookings and certifications.

Matt

  • Having spent the better part of his like in the water surfing, going deeper was a natural progression for Matt. He loves to spend time in the water, taking photos and enjoying the silence.

  • Silvia grew up by the water on the east coast of Italy.

She always knew that living by the water was the only option so when she moved to Australia a decade ago, she started training freediving professionally.

For Silvia freediving is much more than a sport, it is a way to keep everything balanced, the outside world and the inner one!

Silvia is passionate about psychology and the power of the mind, and she hopes to be able to empower with her student these powerful tools that we all have already within us.

Nowadays, as a Cinematographer and Freediving Instructor, he still doesn't really have a 'real job'.

Where is the best place you've ever dived? Lady Elliot Island, at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. The variety and sheer number of underwater critters, married with incredibly clear, blue water and beautiful reef systems makes this a clear stand-out.

Andy

  • Growing up wakeboarding and kitesurfing in the UK Andy has always loved all things aquatic.

After moving to Sydney and swapping a board for fins Andy discovered his passion for the world of freediving and the unique adventures it opens up.

  • Kate has grown far away from the ocean, and never in her wildest dreams could she imagine that one day she will be diving to the bottom of  it.

When she started freediving, she found something bigger than a hobby, freediving allowed her to feel connected to the body and mind, as well as to people and places.

Freediving gives her inspiration every day, and she hopes to share it with others

As a trained high school teacher, it was only natural for Ellen to want to become an instructor so she could share her passion with other would-be freedivers.
